Student Voice at KPS

Our School has a strong culture of acknowledging the importance of Student Voice as an integral part of the fabric of our school life.

We continue to build a culture where all members of our school community value and contribute to the ongoing development of student voice, agency and leadership to best prepare our children to be, in the words of Our Vision Statement, empowered to reach their full potential and become a life-long learner.

Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning in a purposeful way, and to tackle issues arising in the world around them.

Opportunities include:

  • A flourishing Junior School Council with peer elected representatives from Prep to Year Six through which our students are able to voice ideas and initiate projects.

  • Student Leadership opportunities for Senior Students – encouraging responsibility, independence and team work across a wide range of school and broader community activities.

  • Independent, responsible and visible presence on School Social media platforms.

  • Student -led whole-school Assemblies
